Rob Right asked:

The last time there was a Democratic controlled congress and a Democrat in the White House(77-81) we had double digit inflation, high unemployment, long gas lines and Iran Raided our embassy, took hostages and did not let them go until Ronald Reagan’s inauguration day on Jan. 20, 1981. Now of coarse you never hear about any of this today but these are irrefutable facts that are being ignored by the mainstream media.

Of course you are absolutely right in pointing this out. Stay with Fox and you’ll get your fair news!

Caribou Barbieā„¢ on 29 May, 2009 at 12:04 am #

Because it never was this bad before except for the Great Depression

Just stick to FOX NEWS and you’ll hear nothing but GOOD news.

Unilateral control of all branches of government by ANY political party leads to corruption and tyranny. Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

That’s one of the many reasons I will never vote for Obama.

Moreover, this Democratically dominated Congress is the least prolific, lowest approved Congress in history. Single digit (8-9%) approval rating–one THIRD that of George W. Bush’s approval rating (27-30%).

Clinton inherited a good economy from Bush I. He reaped the rewards of Bush I’s policies and claimed credit for them. Just as Bush II reaped the disastrous homeland security policies of Clinton that helped lead to 9/11 shortly after he took office (like a bill introduced by Democrats and put into effect in July 2001–two months before 9/11–that banned pilots from carrying firearms, when they had already been carrying them for 40 years without incident).

Spock (rhp) on 4 June, 2009 at 6:57 pm #

you don’t expect them to rat out their good buddies, do you?

SFC_Ollie on 7 June, 2009 at 3:37 pm #

I saw some gas lines on the news today, I was waiting for the comparison and it never happened. I’ll never forget Iran, I worked a lot of extra hours because of that fiasco.

Cheese Bubbles on 9 June, 2009 at 7:07 pm #

I guess you’re forgetting that Clinton was a good president and the economy was still good….until the Republicans got a hold of the White House…now look where it’s at.

wmayers99 on 12 June, 2009 at 11:27 am #

You seem to be remembering what you want to remember without any help from the media. Why do you **** America?

Get off Y!A ya big dope! on 12 June, 2009 at 6:32 pm #

They would be cutting their own throats. They are in bed with all the left-wing nuts and don’t care about those pesky facts. Better yet, Carter was President during the time you mention and Obama has been compared to Carter many times due to their similar stance on many economic and policy issues.

They also try to tag the Republicans with deregulating the financial industry, but it was Clinton that was instrumental in getting rid of Glass Steigel, the biggest regulatory policy in history, and his Sec of Treasury, Bob Rubin, was well-known for bailing out all sorts of crooked financial companies. Of course, the mainstream media doesn’t mention that either.

opensiriusfox on 15 June, 2009 at 4:23 pm #

Because the media thrives on strife. So when there isn’t enough strife, they brew some up. So when the republican party isn’t bad enough for them, they have to make it sound worse.

Nothing you or I can do will change the Media’s stance. It’s going to take a major disaster to get people on the strait and narrow. But if the return from 9/11 has taught us anything, it’s that rival factions don’t unite for long.

Mean Mr. Clean on 17 June, 2009 at 10:20 pm #

It’s because we didn’t have a president that didn’t get us into a war, use the CIA as if it were the KGB, ignore congressional supeonas, andencourage former employees not to cooperate with investigations.

And if gas was 1.36 when Bush took office….

that’s TRIPLE digit inflation.

Tony Manero on 20 June, 2009 at 1:57 pm #

As if Richard Nixon’s experiments with Price Fixing had nothing to do with the mess that Carter that inherited???

Do your homework pal!

Dave H on 23 June, 2009 at 8:01 pm #

For reasons I’ll never understand, most media outlets are in the tank for the Democrats. Even though their ratings are in the tank along with the Dems, they keep beating that drum. It makes me think that their funding comes from sources other than Advertising….maybe George Soros knows.

judo702 on 26 June, 2009 at 7:40 am #

Because in the last 8 years we have had 9/11, Katrina, Patriot act, and now the wall street crash. The most recent events are overshadowing your 77-81 arguments.

Jupiter Ceasar Leprechaun II on 28 June, 2009 at 4:59 pm #

fluff news lies bout it i remember the clinton yrs fondly i had alot then nothin now and will vote accordinly

poolplayer on 1 July, 2009 at 3:30 pm #

I’m sure they have just forgotten. Our wonderful mass media couldn’t possibly have an ulterior motive for not mentioning these little tidbits.
And in order to get through journalism school with acceptable grades, you have to become just as biased as your professors. And once in the business, you will be surrounded by like minded fellow workers. Non of which think it’s abnormal to be totally in lock step with the liberal agenda. Therefore, anyone in the center or right of center will be labeled a “neocon” (whatever that is) and their opinion is obviously not valid.

diana1b on 4 July, 2009 at 2:51 am #

So your argument is that being lied into a war, having the economy take a dump, losing the respect of the world, cronyism, near fascism, unregulated banks, okaying torture, a history making deficit, an obstructionist Congress, and a politically run Justice Department are good things? We got all of these with a Republican controlled White House and Congress. The Democrat controlled one only lasted four years. The Republicans put their idiot in for eight years after the writing was on the wall after the first four.
